Hi Everyone - Long time no post! Life has been crazy. The end of the year was really rough on my family. My grandfather passed away the week before our family's Christmas and with it also being the end of a semester at school, I was very stressed! My friend's house also burnt down on Thanskgiving, and is actually why I am posting. To all of my great friends at Crochetville, here is the pic and update on all the lovely squares you sent me!

After laying them all out, I realized I still need 10 more squares! Ouch! I thought I was much closer (I thought I only had three or four more to go!)

Anyways, I will continuing the square making and once the afghan is put together and complete, I will have to show it off!

It's the Eve of Turkey Day! Unfortunately I am not going home for the holidays! Because of work, and Wisconsin weather, I will be enjoying mac 'n cheese tomorrow. I plan on putting up my Christmas decorations though, so I am very excited! And besides the dreaded homework I have to do, I will be doing TONS of crocheting! I am almost finished with my first afghan! I am so excited, it turned out so well! I will be posting it soon, so keep an eye out. Eat lots of turkey for me, and stay tuned for more posts!

Very First Project Completed

Today I officially finished my first project! I completed my very first dishcloth! I found a pattern online, used the basic ideas from the pattern, and then created my own! I call it the “Dainty Dishcloth”. I had been thinking about what to do with all of my projects when I started completing them and decided to host my own store at etsy.com. I will be adding my dishcloth for purchase at my online store…..yeah!!! (The link to my store called Jen’s Gems is to the right!!!)

It's Winter in Wisconsin

It is officially the beginning of winter here in Wisconsin. We had our very first snowfall yesterday and wouldn’t you know it, we also had a winter weather advisory alert going! It took me twice as long to get home from work yesterday. My little sister also has the flu, so I’m hoping to take care of her today as best I can. I ran out of yarn on both of my projects I’ve got going, so it’s off to the Ben Franklin down the street today to get some more! Talk to you all soon!

The Dollar Discount

Today was a pretty good day. My goal was to find more pale plum and light plum yarn to continue my afghan. I figured Wal-Mart would have it, but I was wrong! I went everywhere I could think of that would sell yarn and made a great discovery, the Dollar Discount! Just yesterday I bought Wool-Ease yarn and paid over four dollars for the skein. I found the same yarn (different color of course) at the local Dollar Discount for only $1.50! Granted they do not have a huge selection, but I definitely stocked up! Who could resist?!?! Needless to say, I did not work on my afghan today, but I did start on the pair of socks for the “Feet Need Socks” Crochet Along. They are blue using the “Chunky” Wool-Ease yarn. They are turning out ok, but hopefully they work (I used a different sized hook than what the pattern calls for!!!)

"It's a Twister"

Good morning. What a beautiful Sunday! Well, actually we have a tornado watch going and it’s extremely windy, so it might not allow me to do my daily walk. Anyways, my addiction to crocheting is in full swing. My boyfriend told me yesterday he wished he was yarn! I ran out of purple yarn yesterday, so I have to go purchase more to work on my afghan. It is my very first project! I will post pictures when completed. I have also joined the Feet Need Socks Crochet Along, so I will probably start those until I get more yarn for my afghan! Have a great day every one.
